The questions partners actually ask, with honest answers.
The things that come up most when someone's deciding whether to work with me.
We know we should be using AI. Where do we start?
Not with a strategy deck. Start by finding the two or three repetitive jobs your team does every week that AI could take off their plate, and be honest about the ones it can't handle safely yet. My AI Starter Plan does exactly that: two weeks, a plain-English plan you can read in one sitting, and a clear first step. You can run with it yourself or keep going with me. The point is to make AI concrete, not aspirational.
What does a project cost?
Everything is a fixed fee agreed up front, so there are no surprise invoices. To give you a feel: the AI Starter Plan is $6,500, an AI Workflow Review is $4,000, a Microsoft 365 Automation Plan runs $3,500 to $6,000, and Tech Advice on Retainer is $3,000 a month with a three-month minimum. Websites start at $1,000. If your situation doesn't fit a standard package, I'll quote it plainly before any work begins. You always know the number before you commit.
How fast can you deliver?
Faster than most people expect. A Basic website is one to two weeks; a Standard site like this one is two to three. Most advisory projects, an AI plan or a Microsoft review, run about two weeks. Bigger builds take longer, and I'll give you a real timeline in the proposal, not a hopeful one. Because it's just me doing the work, there's no queue of account managers between you and the person actually building the thing.
What happens after the project ends?
You're not left holding something your team doesn't understand. Documentation is part of every project, in plain English: what it does, who owns it, and what to do if it breaks. You also get post-launch support, 30 days on a Standard build and longer on bigger projects. After that you have options: take it from here yourself, call me when you need a hand, or move to an ongoing retainer if the work is broad enough to warrant one. No lock-in, ever.
Why a Halifax consultancy over a big consulting firm?
Three honest reasons. Your data stays in Canada, under Canadian privacy rules, billed in Canadian dollars, with no cross-border transfer to argue about. You get real experience: twenty years across the government, BlackBerry, and banks, including AI used every day by more than 23,000 people. And you talk to me every time, with no project manager in the middle and no junior on the keyboard. I'm not the right fit for a 300-consultant transformation. I am the right fit for planned, accountable, plain-English work for a Canadian small business.
We're a non-profit. Can you actually help us?
Yes. Community work matters, and I keep room for it. If our regular pricing doesn't fit your budget, tell me what you're trying to do, who it serves, and what you can realistically contribute, and we'll figure something out together. It's a bounded promise, not an open-ended one, which is exactly why it's real.

What do the website packages include?
Three tiers, all fast, mobile-friendly, and yours to keep: Basic for a simple one-to-three page site, Standard for a five-page site with copy written for your business, and Premier for a flagship build like the main Timberlea Consulting site. See what's in each, with prices, on our web packages.
